GET INVOLVED TODAY!

The strength of NAMIC is not only found in the diverse professionals who comprise our membership, but their involvement both nationally and locally. There are many ways for you to be engaged with NAMIC and they present you with the opportunity to be visible and enhance your leadership skills.

NATIONALLY

  • Become a mentor through the L. Patrick Mellon Mentorship Program, which pairs top-level industry executives with NAMIC members to assist them with career advancement strategies. We are always looking to expand our pool of mentors and your participation is welcome.
  • Nominate yourself to serve on the National Board of Directors; elections are held annually with the call for nominations to the membership issued in the late spring/early summer.
  • Become a member of the Diversity Roundtable — open to company diversity practitioners or those with primary responsibility for diversity management.
  • Join the Multicultural Marketing Committee. Those eligible for membership include marketing professionals with primary responsibility for their company’s multicultural marketing efforts and initiatives.
  • Volunteer to serve on a Planning Committee for our signature events Ð Annual Awards Breakfast, West Coast Creative Summit/NAMIC Vision Awards and the Annual NAMIC Conference.
  • Offer your expertise to serve as speaker for the Annual NAMIC Conference or the West Coast Creative Summit
  • Serve as a judge for the Excellence in Multi-cultural Marketing Awards (EMMA) or the Vision Awards
  • Author an article for inclusion in any of our e-publications: InTouch, Diversity Scoop, or Cultural Lens.

LOCALLY

  • Serve as a leader of a NAMIC Chapter. Our nationwide network of chapters (currently 17 and growing) annually hold elections for the positions of President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. While prior involvement with a chapter is preferred, it is not a requirement to run for office. Calls for nominations to run for chapter officer are sent every summer.
  • Chair a chapter committee or event
  • Volunteer to serve on a committee and plan educational events and networking opportunities for the NAMIC membership
  • Offer your expertise to serve as a speaker for a chapter educational event
